22"?
BLAAARGH!
22 INCHES MY FRIEND! 22!!! why?! why can't I just have 2 more yards?! I have 558 stitches left (that's 18 very small rows) on the toe of my sock, and only 22 inches of yarn!!! If I have 2, maybe even just 1 more yard I might just barely make it, but 22 stinkin' inches?!?!
*throws offending 22" of yarn (w/attached sock) in the knitting bag and stalks off to bed*

first, BREATHE... deep breaths. Okay. If you like, no, really LOVE the socks, perhaps you could knit a contrast toe? Or **shudder** rip it back and reknit with a short row heel (they usually take less yarn)?
They really are very pretty, there has to be some way to save them. Or maybe they just need a timeout in the knitting bag until it decides to grow another 2 yards of yarn on the end. ;)

Thanks so much for the suggestions, I'm really sort of overreacting because I didn't start without making sure I had extra yarn, but the fact that I had to add on a new ball this close really eats at me. I thought I could finish these on just 2 balls each and have that third untouched for a later project :-P .
