<random observation>Ya know, I think it takes more time to carmelize the sugar on the top of a dish of crème brûlée than it does to eat it?</random observation>
Now onto the knitting content (at last! knitting content on my knitting blog!)...
This FO was feeling a little neglected. It's been finished for over a week and I hadn't blogged anything about it. I didn't even blog about STARTING it, how terrible is that?!
This is a little poncho out of Holiday Knits it's their Mother/Daughter Poncho, I used roughly 150 or 160 grams of Lily Sugar Babies (100% Cotton) in color 'Berry Baby' on size 8 DPNs. I made the largest child size, but it fits more like a 3t than a 5/6. Maybe this was me - they didn't provide a guage so I don't know what to compare it to, but their mesurements for the neck opening I think is similar to mine. The neck opening on the 18-24 month one was really little, so that's why I chose to make the larger size.
Here's a picture of the Finished Object:

The flower wasn't in the pattern, that was my mom's idea, I used the little flower pattern out of my knitting patterns calendar for 2006. It turned out pretty cute, but after it gets worn for a few hours the flower droops a little. The flower is a super wash wool, so it wouldn't matter if I sewed each petal down a little, I think that would help.
This isn't anything new, but I was asked to show a flat picture of my tea cozy that I made last winter. I hope this isn't too late!

I pulled up the flowers so that the shape of the cozy was more visible.
It's a very simple pattern if you can get down those ridges, you carry the yarn for the opposite color along the back fairisle style, but instead of trying to get it to lay flat you pull it tight so that it pulls into those little ribs. Knit aways in garter stitch, and then do the appropriate decreases at the top.
The reason the bottom flares a little is because there's a border of a few rows that doesn't get pulled into that rib pattern.
