It came!!!

I was putting in 12 hr days on a website, so I haven't had a chance to celebrate yet!

My package from Becka of Whimsical Knitting arrived!

IT CAME!! - Lorna's Laces, Brittany double points and The Pattern!

That blue Lorna's is even lovelier in person. Did I ever mention that denim blue is my favorite color? I know ya'll think it must be pink, and pink is all well and good in it's own right, but I've always had an extra-soft spot for midtone blues... Those Brittany DPNs are just the cutest!! I'm excited to try them out, I've used 5 1/2" DPNs in larger sizes, and 7" Brittanys, also in larger sizes, but I've never had a chance to try out these cute little teeny ones! I'm also in love with the the Leaves Of Whimsy Sock Pattern! I can't wait to see how it knits up for me!!

Angora Valley Fibers Monarch Sock Yarn in 'Petrol'Something else came in the mail recently too - it was my Angora Valley Fibers sock yarn, in the "Petrol" color-way! This was my 'thank you' for going on the 10hr roundtrip drive and helping load those 3 crates worth of VW parts plus an engine and a transaxle. I didn't think until just now how fitting the "Petrol" color-way was, that's an amusing coincidence... Greasy work it was... I still need to see to the jeans I was wearing then.

The new yarns are looking quite at home with the rest of my sock yarn "stash" (ha. if you can call it that... but hey, it's a start!). I think with the Lorna's and the new Monarch about doubled that "stash".

a lump o' sock yarn

The new Brittanys also appear to be quite cozy in their new abode. I think all are settling in nicely...

Brittany DPNs settling in

I can't wait to get these Christmas presents finished up so I can try my hand at the Leaves of Whimsy Pattern new DPNs and that Lorna's!! Thanks again Becka!!

But I can't get too much done tonight, I'm pegged for dinner duty. On the menu is Fettuccini Alfredo, except we ran out of Fettuccini noodles when I made it a couple weeks ago. So it's Spaghetti Alfredo (just doesn't have the same ring to it, does it?). I need to use up the left over cream and parmesan from last time I made it. This will be the second time in a month that we've had this for dinner, the last time I recall making it before this was about 10 years ago... seems like I should have made it since then, but I can't remember... hmmmm...

I am having quite an obsession with the Fly yarn, too. I've knit several pairs of socks with it and I saw the Petrol color, too....it's beautiful!!!!!
