"I. AM. THAT. HERO!!!" (or not.)

I've discovered a new talent of mine... or maybe it's a special power. My sister suggested that maybe I have superhero abilities that are just starting to show up, you know, like in the movies when a new superhero is just discovering their new found powers and at first very straaange unexplained things start to happen? Usually much to the embarrassment of the budding superhero. It did take some explaining on my sisters part when I accused her of insinuating by this comment that I was a mutant...

Well a particular strange thing is happening to me with lost items. It doesn't matter how long I've been looking for it, be it 2 hours or 2 months, I'll search and search and it will seem that I may never ever see whatever I'm looking for again until in frustration I go out to whoever may be around to hear me and growl (or shout depending on the importance of the lost item and length of time it's been missing) "I CAN'T FIND (INSERT MISSING ITEM HERE) ANYWHERE!!!"

Within about 5 minutes I'll somehow stumble across whatever it was.

This has happened on atleast three different occasions within the last week. I don't even always need to voice the whole sentence, sometimes I only need to say as little as "I can't find..." ending lamely with an "Oh..." because the offending object suddenly decided to show itself just then, much to my humiliation.

Well one of these reappearances happened just today... I've been missing my sisters Christmas present for some time now and it was all starting to get a little stressful. I had smuggled it away somewheres when she came over to watch a movie, and hadn't been able to find it since. (Guess I hid it really well)

I walked out of my bedroom - where most of my Christmas presents are stashed away - and into the kitchen and complained to my sister - of all people - that I couldn't find it ANYWEHRE!! That this has been missing for the last 4 or 5 weeks and I've run out of places to look! ( for the record she didn't seem too concerned until she found out that the missing item was to be HER Christmas present.)

Of course, I walked into my room moments later and noticed a lump in a bag. I thought to myself... "hmmm... I already moved x out of that bag, that lump couldn't possibly be y, could it???" Naaah, I was being crazy. I surely would have seen it in THERE by then... but what did I have to lose by just checking? Sure enough, after pulling it out and looking it over in shock, I realized that here, in my hands, was the missing present...

Stupid Present.

Who knows... maybe it is a super power? I'm sure that it could be very useful... but I would much rather have invisibility or laser eyes or super strength. It's much cooler and less humiliating (ok well, I admit the laser eyes could take a little getting used to at first.). I mean what could I possibly do? Save the world one lost needle at a time? What kind of superhero is THAT?! I'm not warming up to any super alter-ego names to do with it either... at least "Spiderman" is catchy. On top of all this... I just can't do spandex...

Heh, I know exactly what you mean! Very strange that you have to get mad first though :o) Like a Hulk superpower?

The real problem is when other people start asking you to find things in the house for them - like their keys.
